Not long ago, when the La Son – Tuy Loan Highway had just opened to traffic, we had a journey driving on this road. Just after passing the Hoa Lien roundabout, we’re all amaze when a “majestic landscape painting” appeared on the outside of the car window.
I had been to Hoa Bac a few years ago. At that time, i don’t really like to hang out, I had just followed my friends, just go. The Hoa Bac in my memory at that time was a poetic river with green meadows on both sides of the river, rice fields, and sugarcane fields that blocked the entire way to the church,… But perhaps the heat of the May summer noon that year had somehow blurred my vision, so that on my recently trip, I thought to myself “Have I ever been to Hoa Bac?”, “A paradise!”
You won’t think I’m exaggerating until you see the panoramic view of Hoa Bac from the La Son – Tuy Loan Highway. It was a morning in December, when dew still remains on the leaves, grasses, and the clouds drifted, making the mountain range seem hazy. The trees were reflected on the surface of the river, not a ripple. I saw nothing but a green expanse. I told myself that after this trip, I would definitely have to come back to Hoa Bac a few more times.
The road to Hoa Bac is not difficult. From Nam O area, follow Nguyen Tat Thanh Street and continue on DT601 all the way to the Hoa Lien market, then turn right and go a little further to reach Hoa Bac.
Along the way, you will see the beautiful landscapes, like a wilderness painting. I was most impressed with the bend right under the highway, where I could look down at the Cu De River winding its way around the hills. From the city, on the left bank of the river is the territory of the three villages of An Dinh, Nam Yen, and Loc My. On the right bank is the territory of the four villages of Pho Nam, Nam My, Gian Bi, and Ta Lang. Among these, Ta Lang – Gian Bi is home to a large concentration of Co Tu people.
Compared to previous years, Hoa Bac now has many campsites, homestays, etc. create favorable conditions for developing community tourism to connect visitors to learn about the culture of the Co Tu people, so accommodation is no longer difficult to find. If you are not in a hurry, you can stay overnight in Hoa Bac to fully appreciate the beauty of the place. The beauty of Hoa Bac is not only in its natural scenery but also in the friendliness of the local people.
The most beautiful time of day is sunset. If you want to stay overnight, find a suitable place to stay and reserve. Once you arrive, all you have to do is sit back and enjoy the scenery, the food and accommodation will be taken care of!
Places you can check in to if you come to Hoa Bac: Hoi Yen Parish Church, the vast green rice fields, the butterfly flower garden in Nam Yen, the Hoa Bac cable-stayed bridge, check in at the Hoa Bac dam, and don’t miss the roads that offer panoramic views of the mountains and rivers!
Have a safe and enjoyable trip!
